anyone who knows me will tell you I’m a super nice and chill person, but one thing I do not tolerate is ooc drama. Do not bring it into my dms or try to drag me into it in any way because I’m not about that. if you do do that, you will most likely earn yourself a soft-block.

  PERSONALITY    Athena is the sweetest person you will ever meet…until you mess with her husband, her daughter or anyone else she cares about. She can hold a grudge like nobody’s business and it’s nearly impossible to gain her trust back once lost. A sense of loyalty and protectiveness towards those she loves is cemented within her and few can match it. She is also extremely headstrong and stubborn, nearly to a fault. She is defiant and outspoken in defense of justice and her ideals. Athena only fully trusts her her family and is extremely slow to give it to anyone outside her family. She has a perfected "Capitol persona" that she can turn on and off at will and very few people can tell it's fake. Privately, she often overthinks and doubts her ability to protect her children from reaping.

  APPEARANCE   Athena is a middle-aged woman of slim yet athletic build with red hair and green eyes. She often wears one to three braids in her hair (marriage, engagement and Victor) in accordance with the traditions of District Four. She wears her wedding band: a white pearl set in a gold band with an image of Amphirite & Poseidon etched on it on the middle finger of her left hand.

  biography  CHILDHOOD AND TEEN YEARS: Athena Océane Aegean (née Adler) was born on October 28th, 37 ADD in District Four to Oceanus and Salacia Adler. As their only child, her father insisted she be enrolled at the Tribute Academy at the age of six, in hopes she would one day volunteer. Her mother was less strict but never stood up to Oceanus on anything. While most of Athena’s childhood was filled with training in the Academy (which she hated), the one bright spot she found was her neighbor and fellow trainee, Nereus Aegean. Best friends practically since they were born, the two were inseparable and spent every spare moment when they weren’t training together. (Their mothers and Flintlock Azure swore they’d get married one day. Little did they know, they’d be exactly right). As she grew, Athena’s feelings for Nereus grew and at just fourteen, she realized she was in love with him and he her. She found a shell on the beach one day and saved it for when she would one day make it into a marriage bracelet. When she was seventeen and Nereus was eighteen, tragedy struck when he was reaped. Thankfully, though, he managed to win and make it back home to his waiting girlfriend. The couple’s relief was short-lived because, during the following year, Athena was reaped. The day prior to the reaping, Nereus had presented her with an engagement pearl (a custom in Four) and asked her to marry him, which she happily accepted. When her father found out about the engagement (already disappointed in her for not volunteering), he tried to forbid her to marry him, being that he’d always disliked Nereus (now a fisherman’s apprentice) and thought him a distraction who would never amount to anything despite his being a Victor. The Capitol tapped Athena’s new fiance to mentor her and the process for the 55th Games began. (While the two were away, Flint and Salacia argued on Athena and Nereus’ behalf for the wedding).55TH GAMES: Athena’s arena was a desert with a big oasis in the middle with the cornucopia in it and several smaller oases scattered throughout. Each of the smaller oases were guarded by a supersized desert mutt (king cobras, scorpions, buzzards, etc.) Additionally, each oasis included either clean, salt (you had to distill to drink) or poisoned water. The salt ones also contained a variety of sea creatures, which Athena and her partner used for both food and for making poisons. She had her own system for differentiating these (marking symbols only she understood in tree trunks). Since there were few places to hide in such an otherwise open arena, the Gamemakers provided hyper realistic holograms that couldn’t be distinguished from real people until you tried to kill them (along with camouflage kits). They attuned to the user via a small blood sample and could be reused if they were taken or the first user died by submitting a new sample.Athena and her district partner decided to obtain more holograms than they had by killing others who had them and placing them at the oases to use as lures to pick off tributes more easily. Unfortunately, whilst trying to steal one of the holograms, her district partner was killed. She blamed herself because she couldn’t get to him in time and the plan to use the holograms as lures was hers in the first place.When there was only Athena and a girl from District 2 left, she ran out of drinkable water. Thankfully, she remembered Nereus had taught her how to distill water in training and ultimately saved her life. Finally, when she and the girl from 2 met again, the girl nearly killed her because she had camouflaged herself in an oasis. Thankfully, Thena saw a brief flash of movement. Nereus saved her life once more because she used the move he’d taught her, spun around and speared the girl in the throat, securing her victory.When Athena returned home, she learned her father had reluctantly given permission for her marriage, but would not attend as he had never liked Nereus and did not think it was a good match, despite his victory the prior year. Athena was frustrated at her father’s stubbornness and it caused an even bigger rift between them. Then on May 15th, 56 ADD at nineteen, Athena Adler married Nereus Aegean on a cliff in Four overlooking the ocean. The year after that, Athena’s father died of heart issues. Salacia was diagnosed with late-stage Parkinson’s and died just a year after her husband.PRIOR TO THE 75TH, 75TH GAMES, AND REBELLION:
The following years were happy ones for Athena and her husband, but as much as she wanted to be a mother, she dreaded bringing a child into the current world. However, she and Nereus did not abstain from certain activities and though they had several years of luck, Athena became pregnant at thirty-three. Nine months later, their daughter—Amphirite Margaret Aegean—was born on December 4th, 70 ADD. The next four years were dedicated to raising her daughter alongside her husband and mentoring with him when called. During the 75th Games, however, Athena was tapped to mentor her cousin-in-law, Finnick and Mags, since her cousin Annie was too stressed to do so. Nereus stayed home with Amphy. After the Games, she was whisked away to District Thirteen with the rebels, where she was reunited with her husband, daughter, cousin and fellow Victors. Now, she and Nereus aid the Rebellion efforts in any way they can while taking care of their daughter. She is currently pregnant with their second child, conceived while in District Thirteen.
